I am a young artist & designer from Kyiv. Two weeks before the war I’ve finally found a job of my dream - and worked in a children books publishing. The evening before the war I’ve hurried from the work to buy a new oil paint that I wanted to try so much - it was dioxazine purple. I still carry it with me. Though instead of painting some nature, now I’ll be painting war landscapes.
I’ve left Kyiv at the beginning of March. First went to Lviv by train, then went by car to polish border, then crossed the border on feet. Then had to went to Warszawa by two buses and two trains, and then to Paris by one more bus. All that while having a fever and barely standing on my feet. I’ve seen terribly huge lines and heard simply terrifying stories of other refugees in there.

I’ve left in Ukraine everything I loved. My parents, my cat, my beloved friends, all the beloved streets and places. I didn’t want to leave at all - but my parents felt it was a right thing to do for me. Now I am in France. And I have to start a new life, with two backpacks. I am not worrying about myself, though. Because everyone who’s left in Ukraine, has much more troubles than me. They are not safe even in remote western regions. So all I can do for them - is to return to normal life in a safe place and find a way to support them, at least with money.
